I’m Herman…

… I grew up online, with a camera in my hand. And that’s how I started my working life… not with that camera, but in computer science. Because holding a camera… that can never be a serious career, right…?

I started as freelance creator for the first time in 2007 during my bachelor’s degree in computer science. By earning extra money alongside my studies, my talent started to develop. Still, I completed my bachelor’s degree in computer science and master’s degree in sociology and started my corporate career. After a solo world trip, during which I filmed my story and adventures day in and day out, I started to shift my career-path and became a full-time filmmaker. And in doing so, I have created space for the maximum development of my craft.

As a sociologist, my specialization in human interest is not surprising. I am the director of, among other things, the Pilotdream-series where I am in charge of the creative direction. I also alternately make various mini-documentaries, portrait films and reports for both commercial and government organizations as a director or as a filmmaker. A look… (scroll further)
